ROCK BOTTOM VOGUE COLLAB
Hello beautiful people of the internet! Happy Monday! I'm excited to finally share my first ever fashion collaboration with Chic Conviction (all info will be linked down below). Melrose reached out to me with her idea and of course I jumped right in. "Rock Bottom Vogue" is all about still looking great on a budget. If your bank account is at Rock Bottom *raises hand* but you still want to feel like you stepped out of Vogue, then continue reading.
But even if you find yourself rolling in the money *cries from jealousy* this is still relevant. I'll be showcasing three of my favorite outfits from Dechoes Resale clothing store (all info will be linked down below as well). I have a clean, minimal, and edgy style so it was a challenge to find things that resembled that in a vintage resale store. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised with all that I found and even walked away with some of the things I modeled.
Anyways, I'm excited to show you the three modern and clean looks I styled with vintage pieces. Make sure to check out Chic Conviction in the links down below. Special thanks to Dechoes Resale Vintage shop for hosting this collaboration and treating us with the utmost respect and love. Without further ado, grab your coffee/snack and let's get started!
This first outfit would be perfect for a casual date night or dinner with the girls. My personal style is always a mixture of dressier pieces and casual pieces. I guess I never feel comfortable completely fancy and I don't want to scare people away with my sweatpants and bleach stain t-shirts. This white top is a button-up tunic from Free People, which was sold for $14 (originally $88). What a steal! I paired it with this polka-dot bodysuit from Forever 21 ($9) and these vintage leather shorts ($20). To dress it up, I added these camel colored heels from Vince Camuto ($20 & sold) and a vintage white clutch.
Surprisingly this outfit was super comfortable. I could totally see myself wearing it for a long night out on the town. Anyone can recreate this look with a printed bodysuit or a colorful heel. I enjoy black and white since they are classic colors, but for summer, a pop of color would look fresh too.
My second outfit choice is my favorite because of how unconventional it is. A dress and sneakers with a vintage structured bag, who would have thought? I love this dress so much, I regret not buying it. I decided with this look to go for a 'street style' approach to something high fashion. Alone this dress would have been dressier than my everyday style,, but paired with these burgundy sneakers and vintage bag, it gave it a 'tomboy', model off the runway look (despite the fact that I'm 5'2).
The dress is from Zara. The purse is vintage, and the shoes are from an off brand. Together this outfit looks so expensive but was actually under $60. By the way, these are the shoes I bought.. They were outrageously comfortable, I couldn’t resist!
My final outfit I decided to go with a ' hipster school-girl' look. Fun fact, I had a little help from the girls at Dechoes with this piece (shout-out to Flower for helping with the belt). Of course in this Florida heat, dresses are a must (anything to avoid sweaty legs) and a comfortable alternative to basically anything else.
This vintage denim wrap dress (under $50) was a perfect fit for my small frame yet didn't swallow my height. I paired it with white, lace up oxfords and a silver belt. To create that 'schoolgirl' look, I added these glasses and a backpack. I love how classy yet innocent this looks. I can totally see myself wearing this while reading a book in a coffee shop downtown (how cool of me).
All in all, these three outfits equally express my edge, even though they were all from a vintage resale store. Each one pushed me to a new level whether that be a crazy print or fun glasses. Like I said earlier, I enjoy taking casual pieces and dressing them up. I'm so happy with how all the outfits turned out. Special thanks to Chic Conviction for allowing me to be a part of this collaboration and to Dechoes Resale Vintage clothing store for hosting us. Check out all the information on both Chic Conviction and Dechoes Resale clothing store down below.
Lastly I leave you with this, no matter where you are in life - on the top of the financial food chain or at the bottom - there is always a way to feel 'Vogue'. No matter what your bank statements say, you can always turn anything (even vintage pieces at your local resale clothing store) into something magical. Have an awesome week!
And as always this has been,
As Told By,
