A WARM SUMMER

MODEL: SHAKIRA MCGOWAN. AUTHOR: AMANDA SMITH

I'm sorry for the things I said when it was Winter. It was cold. I was cold. Everything inside me froze. My thoughts, my heart, my actions, my willingness to move forward. Maybe I meant them, maybe I didn't, all I know is I never meant the pain. The stinging that occurs before numbness arrives. Ice down a back like bad joke in disguise. Yet, I wasn't joking, no I don't cope in that way. But Summer is coming, a new and warmer day. Time to unfreeze all the cosmos within. Salty hair, tan skin, popsicles and a brave soul to win. I'm sorry for the things I said when it was Winter.
